The sea. The risk and the attraction divided between two genders: the male and the female. Both are essential, both complementary.

The relationship of women with the sea is intense and changing in the course of history. Whether as companions, dressed in men’s clothing or even as pirates, women have sailed the seas. Women have contributed over the centuries to the maritime economy with their effort and organizational capacity. Their work has covered important areas of social character in the fishing and marine communities.

Although the relevance of women’s participation is unquestionable, there is a deficit in the public recognition of their contribution. This collection is inspired by all those women and their workforce.

Organic, repetitive and rounded shapes give way to oversize pieces to achieve movement. The patterns are inspired by work clothes. The sinuosity is sought through bulky denim pieces.

Materials such as ribbon and cord represent the nets and ropes of the boats and are worked with macramé technique and the low warp loom.

Softer fabrics are worked with elastic cord to get movement.

Frayed and open stitches symbolize the net. They are hand-knitted using crochet and knitting techniques.

Prevailing materials are cotton, linen and silk. The raffia is woven creating caps and accessories.

The silver color is representative in this collection that combines black and white, navy blue, turquoise and light grey. In order to achieve the grey gradient effect, the handmade dyeing technique in finished work is used.
